Noo_Net: Friends - Reflection W7

I think it may depend on experiences.

bishopt:

For me, I believe that high school friends, and college friends are what you make them.  Many times once people reach college they believe they have found all of the friends they need in high school.  Other times, people are at a new university, with little or no friends from high school, and really just want to meet new people.  My friends from high school, except for a small few, are no longer really my friends and are more like acquaintances.  The small few that I keep in contact with on a regular basis probably know me better than anyone else because I grew up with them.  My point of view though, is just because I do have a close knit group of friends from high school, does not mean that I cannot find the same people in college.  I believe in college is where a person finds who they are and who they want to be.  Through this experience, you find the kind of person you want to be friends with, and who you click with most.  This is why I have been able to find some extremely close friends in college as well.  To me what is most important is being true to yourself and not jeopardizing the person you are to get along with a certain group of people, which in a lot of cases is how friends are made in high school.  The true test of friendship I believe, is longevity and being truly empathetic.  If you keep a few friends from high school, consider yourself lucky.  If you find a few people in college that you get along with and share the same passions or have a similar personality, consider yourself lucky.  I believe that having a handful of best friends is better than having a roomful of good friends.  Always believe in other people and strive to be the best friend you can be…you never know if the person you are sitting next to is looking for a friend.

longevity-having something sustained over a long period of time

empathetic-showing compassion and understanding of other people’s points of view

Friends - Reflection W7

I talk with my friend about high school friends and university friends. We compared between in Thailand and here. I think it is very similar. Friends in high school are closer than in university. We share more information; not only knowledge, but we share our lives. We don’t have much secrets. On the other hand, Friends in university are different. We don’t talk much. Sometimes, we only talk in class. Maybe, it’s because of classes are very big. We talk only something that we study together. We don’t share lives. But it’s not all of them would be similar. I also can find some good friends in my university, and she does either.

Movies_WK 6

I am from Thailand. I havn’t seen movies lately. The last movie I’ve seen was Sherlock Holmes. It was good.

hellaz:

That is really interesting.  Where are you from?  Even though I can buy on demand movies through cable I prefer to go to the movie theater.  I guess it is just a different experience.  Also I like how big the screen is!  Have you seen any movies in the theater lately that you would recommend?

noonet:

On Tuesday, I talked with my friend about movies. He goes to see movies twice a mouth. He said almost American people buy cable, so they don’t need to go to a theater. However, some people still go there because of many reasons. They go to a theater to meet friends,or to do an activity outside. These are different from my country. We don’t have TV on demand, so the only one thing we can do is to go out to a theater to watch movies.

Noo_Net: Recycled Trash

I think so. If everyone recycles more than ignore trashes, our world will be better, and we will have less trash.

damnitboy:

On Wednesday, I talked with Kimnorman. She is a Pre-Nursing student at VCU. We talked about trashes that how people do with them. She said that the gov. try to campaign about items that we don’t use them, but they still be able to use again. She told me many people try to recycle many stuff, like…

Yes, i do believe there are not enough recycling bins for use in the city of Richmond, but i can mainly only talk about the area around VCU. I live on the southside of Richmond, in Chesterfield. While i was growing up, my family never did any sort of recycling. When i met my fiance’ about 8 years ago, she was an avid recycler, and i am always hearing it from her if i forget to recycle my trash. Her family never recycled while she was growing up, but recycling was not very mainstream when we were kids. Im sure the way she is “training” me lol, our family in the future will be a recycling team.

I think maybe, it’s the same as my country that the gov. try to do so many things to help the world, but it does not really work. She told me that she trys to recycle some trashes and avoids to use them. Her mother also does the same.
